Accessibility Statement
HomeSteward aims to be usable by as many people as reasonably possible. We want homeowners, landlords and property managers to understand maintenance needs, risks, confidence labels and reports without unnecessary visual or technical barriers.
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standard. We work to ensure HomeSteward is usable by people with a range of disabilities, including visual, motor, auditory and cognitive impairments.
Accessibility aims
We aim to:
- Use clear language
- Support keyboard navigation
- Provide visible focus states
- Use sufficient colour contrast
- Avoid relying on colour alone for risk or urgency
- Provide text labels alongside red, amber and green indicators
- Support screen readers with meaningful headings, labels and descriptions
- Make forms understandable and error messages clear
- Make exported PDFs reasonably readable and structured
- Avoid unnecessary motion or provide reduced-motion support
Risk display and colour
Because HomeSteward displays maintenance risk, urgency and confidence, the product never relies on colour alone. Risk information is always shown with text, for example:
Risk: elevated, 68/100
Confidence: low
Evidence: age estimated
Action: upload survey or add inspection date
Known limitations
HomeSteward is in active development. Potential limitations at launch may include:
- Some exported PDF structures may require further accessibility review
- Some third-party payment or document-upload interfaces may have their own accessibility limitations
- Early dashboard charts should have text alternatives or should not be the only way to understand the information
We are working to identify and address gaps. If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know.
