Acceptable Use Policy

1. Permitted use

You may use HomeSteward to:

• Manage your own home maintenance records, property documents, maintenance history, recommendations, reminders, and exports
• Manage properties you own or are authorised to manage (e.g. as a landlord or property manager)
• Upload documents, photos, or data you are entitled to upload and process

Permitted documents include: property surveys, EPCs, service records, invoices and receipts, warranties, inspection reports, appliance photos, and relevant home maintenance notes.

2. Prohibited use

You must not:

• Access or interfere with other users' accounts or data
• Upload malware, unlawful material, or content that infringes third-party rights
• Misrepresent HomeSteward reports as professional surveys, legal documents, valuations, safety certificates, or compliance documents
• Rely on HomeSteward instead of legally required professional checks (e.g. Gas Safe inspections, EICR, structural surveys)
• Provide regulated professional services to others using HomeSteward without the required qualifications
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or misuse the API
• Create fake accounts or engage in fraudulent activity
• Infringe intellectual property rights
• Harass, discriminate against, or engage in unlawful surveillance of others
• Use AI outputs to create false records or misleading reports

3. Landlords and professionals

Landlords, property managers, and professionals must comply with their own legal obligations. HomeSteward assists with record keeping and reminders but does not perform inspections, issue certificates, or guarantee compliance with any regulatory requirement.

4. AI-extracted data

You must review AI-extracted suggestions before relying on them. You must not use AI outputs to create false records or misleading reports. AI extraction is a planning aid, not a professional assessment.

5. Enforcement

If you breach this policy, we may take one or more of the following actions:

• Issue a warning
• Remove content or restrict uploads and exports
• Suspend or terminate your access
• Report unlawful activity to relevant authorities
• Preserve evidence as legally required

6. Reporting misuse
